Hello. This is my first time posting.
I’m facing a problem with my new PC setup.
It’s a GTX 1060 with 6600k, 16GB RAM, running Windows 10.
When playing demanding games and pressing Alt Tab, my cursor and desktop elements slow down significantly. This issue only appears on the desktop, not when using apps like Skype or browsers. I’ve tried various solutions but have no clear answer.

I suspect it could be related to the graphics card or its driver, or perhaps something else entirely. The GPU lag intensifies during stress tests—whether overclocked or at stock speeds—and similar issues appear with the CPU and RAM. I’ve checked all possible configurations and combinations.

PS: I recently moved the GPU to a friend’s PC, and it functions perfectly. This suggests the problem isn’t with the hardware itself.
PPS: I also tested the RAM, which has two 8GB Kingstone Predator 3000MHz units across different profiles. The issue persists regardless of configuration.

I reinstalled Windows and installed drivers one by one, without an internet connection so it wouldn't interfere with automatic updates. Good news. The issue was related to the Nvidia GForce Experience (version 3.07 or later). The overlay during gaming was causing problems. After uninstalling, everything worked properly. Thank you for your assistance.

Do you have the most recent BIOS and MMO drivers? Also, please note there is another post here that is not permitted and has already been removed.

It should work properly unless there are issues with the age or condition of the system—could we consider using a different power supply?

Tradesman1 suggests checking if the issue persists under different conditions and mentions the possibility of using a different PSU. They note all parts are new but lack a way to replace the PSU without someone dismantling the PC. They also wonder if power fluctuations might affect gaming performance, though they're not sure. They mention having ECO mode enabled and plan to remove it if necessary.
