I recently purchased this ASUS PC and didn't notice it came with a DVD drive. I'm wondering if it can accept an external DVD drive. How would the connection work, and which brands are more suitable?

There are numerous external DVD drives available. Consider looking for options from companies like Verbatim, Asus, and LG.

Uncertain about the exact number of USB ports on this PC – possibly four. It seems to support a mouse, keyboard, and docking station via USB. Should be able to handle all those devices along with the DVD drive.

When native USB ports are insufficient, a USB hub can support the mouse or keyboard from one port. No performance problems are expected.

Some DVD drives include Blu-ray while others do not. You can find quality DVD drives on Newegg without any mention of Blu-ray.

Looking for bluray external options is possible.

They're not correct (being too precise). Blue ray drives work with dvd and cd because of backward compatibility, but a dvd drive is just a dvd drive and doesn't know about blue ray.

OK then...perhaps the OPs question ought to be:
"Do some optical drives include Blu-ray, while others do not?"
Answer: Yes.
