Hello. I recently assembled my first PC and set up Windows on it. Everything is working properly except for a minor issue. When I watch many YouTube videos, stream online TV shows, or download files, my memory usage spikes significantly. It consumes all of my 8GB RAM and even starts utilizing virtual memory. This problem isn’t limited to games or other programs—it mainly affects internet activities. Once these tasks stop, the usage drops back down to around 15%, which is normal when I power on. However, if the system runs out of memory, the PC becomes unresponsive. It won’t shut down properly; the screen turns black and after a few minutes I’m locked out or need to restart. I have to manually restart it until I can download again. My AVG antivirus is still running, and all installed programs match what I see on another PC without this issue. Anyone have any advice?

In the Task Manager, select Processes and choose Memory to arrange from highest to lowest usage. This helps identify which program is consuming the most RAM. If your browser is the culprit, ensure no unnecessary extensions are active.

I don't use a browser. Please ask someone else about it.

From the task manager I see around 700-1.5GB in usage, yet it keeps showing more than 80% occupied. When I open Chrome through Task Manager, it displays about 300MB instantly, and when I close it the same size disappears.
