This refers to high temperatures on the CPU after adjusting settings. The increase is usually small—just a few degrees or so. Whether it matters depends on your workload; if the GPU handles most tasks and you have ample VRAM, the effect might be minimal.

High detail shadows demand significant memory usage. Enabling it alongside maximum settings only works up to 4GB RAM, except when using 4x MSAA.

I didn’t plan anything too much, just tried a lot and went with it. Except for the MSAA. Doing that would probably use up all my VRAM.

However, I currently utilize 2,4 or 2,5 GB storage. Are high-resolution shadows really consuming over 1GB?

He supports 1440p resolution, but you're using 1080p.

It seems you recall the memory usage being about 400MB at 2560x1440 resolution, as shown by the in-options VRAM meter. You expect it to be slightly lower at 1080p.

I don't think so. I've pushed everything to its limit except MSAA, and I'm around 3.1 GB of VRAM. When I enable MSAA at 4x, it uses roughly 3.6 GB, and with 8x it would be about 4 GB according to the in-game specs.
