Extend GPU performance beyond afterburner limits
Extend GPU performance beyond afterburner limits
I have a GTX 650Ti 1GB i've been tinkering with and I've found myself pushing the limits of what Afterburner allows you in the overvoltage / overclocking sliders. Is there a way to increase voltage over the +100mV maximum from the slider?
I'm confident in my ability to cool the card (max temps are about 61C at +100mV and +250MHz core), but should I also be worried about the its physical power limit? It's got a single PCI-E 6-pin connector.
You can set up a distinct BIOS for the GPU. If not, simply adjust the voltage control in the settings.
If you install a modified GPU BIOS, you should be able to restore the original firmware when necessary.
I'm no expert in that, I would say yes if there is a way to back up the firmware.
I intend to improve it further, so my efforts are purely for fun. I've started to like it even more than playing games lately.
That I understand completely. Something satisfying about making something the best you can get it.
I discovered a manual to use at a later time. Appreciate the positive comments and enjoy the performance boost.
