EXPO isn't compatible with Asus TUF x670e plus
I assembled a PC back in 2022. The hardware included an Asus TUF gaming x670E with a Ryzen 7700x, a Kingsron fury: KF560C36BBEK2-32 processor, and a 2TB PNY XLR8 CS3140 SSD. After setup, performance issues emerged—its Geekbench score dropped significantly compared to similar CPUs, though Cinnebench R23 performed within acceptable limits. I initially ran Apple-biased benchmarks and dismissed them. Once the RTX4090 arrived, playing Destiny 2 caused noticeable frame drops, though it was manageable. Recently, the game fell to just 40 FPS, prompting me to check diagnostics. A 3DMark test returned a score of 20,000. I suspected the CPU was the problem and attempted a BIOS update, then enabled EXPO. The system remained stuck on a yellow error light for about 20 minutes. Clearing the CMOS resolved it temporarily. Testing various EXPO profiles didn’t help; clearing the CMOS after each failed attempt was necessary. After reverting to the stock BIOS and manually configuring EXPO, the PC booted normally but still displayed the yellow light. I’m considering replacing the GPU entirely and giving the rest of the components a thorough overhaul.
I looked into QVL but the issue remains: AEK modules don’t show the RGB mine. EXPO functioned before, but after the update it didn’t. I started questioning if something is wrong with me or my PC. The RAM label clearly states EXPO on the box.
I incorrectly upgraded to 1222, yet it still doesn’t have an expo. The 0821 version functioned on 0809, though it had many issues.
