I encountered an odd problem where my RAM isn't stable at EXPO speeds (OCCT and prime95 errors appear), yet it runs fine during MSI testing with settings 6000-34-36-36-86. Anyone explain why this happens? It's the same speed but tighter timings seem to make it more stable! MB: MSI B650-P Wifi, latest BIOS, RAM from G.Skill DDR5 Flare X, CPU 7600X with PBO at -15. I'm just a beta tester for AM5.

Typically, when XMP doesn’t work smoothly, adjusting the speed and focusing on the primary four settings resolves the problem. This lets the motherboard handle the remaining details automatically.

Like with all synchronizations, higher precision doesn't always mean easier handling. Your memory controller might provide a steadier signal at CL34 and must work harder to match a CL36 signal. This is comparable to playing at 120 fps in a game while trying to show it on a 90 or 60 Hz screen. The 90 Hz monitor performs better overall, but for this situation it's simpler to skip one frame every two instead of skipping one every fourth frame. Hope this clarifies things.

That's really cool, thanks! I think I'll go with it instead of purchasing a new stable kit.
