Over the past year, roughly every 30 seconds after restarting, my monitors briefly turn black for about five seconds before resuming. Once I boot again, nothing occurs. I think the issue might be related to my graphics card and I’ve checked Event Viewer for errors but haven’t found anything. Could someone advise on event viewer codes or explain where GPU problems would show up?

Before pointing the blame at the GPU, consider noting the PSU model, age, along with the GPU and other parts. Also, check if the drivers are current and if the BIOS is up to date.

I recently replaced a number of parts I purchased from a friend who traveled abroad, such as PSU, MOBO, CPU, all of which are under a year old. I retained my GPU, RAM, and all storage drives. As previously experienced, I faced the same problem with my previous setup, and since I only kept the hardware listed above, the GPU is now my top choice considering its age.

My current specifications are:
I operate a custom loop where both CPU and GPU are cooled.
CPU
OLD
: I7-8700K - Deleted and overclocked to 5GHz
NEW
: CPU: I7-9700K (Not overclocked - less than a year old)
GPU
: 1080 TI FTW3 - Heavily overclocked in my earlier build, around 5 years old.
PSU
OLD
: Corsair RM1000X
NEW
: EVGA G6 Supernova 1000W new
MOTHERBOARD
OLD
: Asus Formula XI
NEW
: Asus Prime Z390-A
RAM: Corsair Dominator 32 GB 3200mhz
DRIVES
1x 960 Evo 500GB M2
1x 970 Evo 500GB M2 (OS drive)
1x 860 Evo 1TB SSD
1x 850 Evo 250GB SSD
1x WD 5TB External HDD (backup drive)
MONITORS (if relevant)
3x BenQ XL2411P
2 connected via DisplayPort
1 connected via HDMI
Given that I currently have more issues than I’d like to admit, I updated the BIOS and drivers yesterday, which significantly resolved one of my other problems. However, this did not impact the issue at hand.
