I placed the order yesterday and won’t be home until tonight. I’m curious about giving it a try. There are many negative reviews too. Still, I’ll see how it goes in the first couple of hours. I think they’re working quickly since they’re a small team. I’m checking out some Twitch streamers to get an idea—it seems to be running well.

I was taken aback by the size, especially since most games are larger. I thought at least 5GB would be expected. Yes, it's 2.5GB.

The file size listed there is the download amount (https://twitter.com/NoMansSky/status/763875660175663108). This excludes the installation files. The Steam store page asks for at least 10GB, indicating the game likely exceeds 2.5GB in total size.

After the update, performance remains stable at 60 fps. Minor stutters appear, probably from procedural content creation.

Honestly, I've been running it fine at high details and max frame rate on a gtx 770 and i7 4790k, I initially experienced a bit of lag, but it settled down as I went on. I'm currently on the starting planet, which it a frozen planet at -67.5C and it's a tricky one to manage, it's not like an elder scrolls game where you can hoard every item you come across, you really do have to make sure you don't run out of space, however it's fortunate that you can constantly send items back to your ship at any point, although your ship will run out of space as well at some point. I do agree that it is repetitive, and I'm a little annoyed that it's not online or even has an online feature to do local multiplayer with friends, but I'm hoping that that may be added at a later date. If you don't like grinding, resource farming and micro managing then you'll want to get something else, but if you don't mind taking your time to get going and want something with vibrant, colourful and friendly space travel then this is a good game to get in my opinion. I'll update my views on it when I'm further into the game, but for now it's quite nice to explore in.

It's been functioning perfectly for me, I don't understand why others are facing problems. I purchased it because I enjoy exploring and it's so enjoyable to visit various planets and discover what they offer. I believe I'm one of the few people who really appreciate it, lol. I discovered an interesting planet and shared it on YouTube—check it out here.

You're experiencing a low field of view that makes everything look compressed, even though your settings are at their maximum. It sounds like the game might be limiting your experience further.
