After a week with my new setup I decided to start overclocking my Ryzen 5 3600x. Here’s what I achieved based on my requirements and gaming sessions: I increased the clock speed from 3.8 to 4.275GHz at 1.3V, reaching a maximum of 65°C under full load. I also managed to push it up to 4.3GHz, but only when I adjusted the voltage to 1.4V, which caused the CPU to get quite hot during intense tasks (temperatures reached 85°C at times). All my stress tests and OC adjustments were done using Ryzen Master and RealBench. I’m running it alongside an RTX2080 Super and a Stix LC360 AiO. Would love to hear your thoughts on overclocking the 3600X and any personal setups you have!

Play mainly on games, run a single-core benchmark, and check your results against an automatic profile.

On single core testing OC returned 477 while stock showed 481. The normal test on Cinabench with the OC setting caused my PC to crash right away, and it seems like this might happen under multicore conditions. After adjusting the voltage to 3.2, the multicore test worked fine. It looks like the stock model provided a bit more power since the higher voltage was used.

Activated auto mode now. With a X570 board and solid cooling solution, the OC should perform even better—just boosting performance further!

I rely on stock or PBO for gaming purposes. Core manual modifications work well for rendering and productivity tasks only.

This makes it hard to decide what to do. Also, I often edit small videos using NVIDIA’s shadowplay, which is another factor to consider.

What caught me was recalling how tough things were at first in mce—it really sucked, just like I did. But it’s nice to know it improved because it became much better over time.
