Can someone explain the process for moving data and memory between internal SSDs after renaming them in Disk Management? For instance, if you swap your 512GB drive to be Drive C: and your 2TB drive to D:, how do you ensure the larger drive becomes C: while keeping the smaller as a backup on D:? You mentioned you can change the lettering, but you need guidance on transferring files before or after that step. Both drives are internal, so let me know if you need further clarification.

You can easily move folders between drives. The process is straightforward. For a full Windows installation, backing up your data is recommended beforehand.

To transfer everything to the new drive, you'll need to clone the entire 512 GB storage onto the larger 2 TB drive or perform a fresh Windows installation. After that, rename the drives and proceed. Keep in mind that cloning will erase all data from the bigger drive initially. If you have valuable files like photos or games on the larger drive, make sure to back them up elsewhere first. If you're not concerned about the operating system, simply copying and pasting files is sufficient. For a smoother transition, consider a clean reinstall rather than cloning, as it reduces the risk of unexpected problems. Always back up any critical information before starting.

You're considering transferring data between two drives. Adding a third drive as a temporary step could simplify the process.
