Hey there. Recent oddities began appearing in my explorer last week, as shown in the attached image. As observed, the emphasized text isn’t adhering to the language settings I’ve configured. This issue was first noticed two weeks ago, though I’m not sure of the exact date. My operating system is fully updated (version 19044.1526) with all cumulative updates applied. All PCs in the office running Windows 10 Pro are affected, and none differ from each other except for that specific OS version. Every installation is OEM and originally set up in Portuguese.

I’ve tried several steps: installed an English language pack, switched display language to English, restarted, reverted back, and used DISM to fix system files. Ran sfc /scannow, performed an in-place upgrade via Media Creation Tool, created a new account to verify the problem, activated the Administrator account, uninstalled recent updates (though not all can be removed), and even did a clean Windows 10 installation from the tool.

The issue doesn’t appear immediately but emerges after a few hours of waiting and some updates. It suggests something is amiss with the latest Windows release. No signs in Settings or the old control panel, yet it’s active in the Security Centre—all English, despite Portuguese language settings being applied.

It seems the OS might be experiencing a temporary glitch. Any suggestions on what could be causing this? Thanks in advance!

Could start with a basic check of the settings, but this issue tends to slip through in fresh releases. A rollback might be necessary if it causes too much trouble.

Thank you for your time! It seems rollback wasn't the right path. I disabled one of the systems for testing, reinstalled the OS from the ground up, and eventually got Windows Explorer in two languages working. After a few updates, it appeared again—only after a while did it show up during login. The setup was quite minimal, with just a few essential drivers and tools like 7-Zip, PDF readers, Visual C++ redistributables, DirectX, and Office applications.
