The nhu12s isn't sufficient for a 5800x3d setup; you'll need a superior cooler. Also, the CPU doesn't officially support any changes to frequency or voltage.

No CPU officially supports voltage changes, correct? I didn't consider the 5800X3D or B350's PBO limits, so manual negative voltage offset and/or improved cooling are the only solutions.

The issue is resolved at the BIOS level because of its design. Better cooling is the solution, unfortunately.

Using the PBO2 tuner app shows results. Reducing -15 across all cores by about 5°C during load (from 84-85°C) keeps temperatures stable and remains consistent. I haven’t gone below that point. The problem is needing to start and tune the program each time it launches. @jaslion I’m considering a 280mm AIO instead of my current Noctua. @Imprezzion lowering the negative Vcore to 1.3v from 1.4v could help. I’ll do more testing tonight.

An ak620 is also a great option, priced around 40-50$.

Got it, sending back the Noctua and placing the AK620 order. Spending the extra $40 on whisky too...

Set up the AK620 yet. Need the PBO tuner to prevent it from throttling. It’ll exceed 85°C during an R23 run. Well, at least we have a fix.

This review is quite unusual. The cooler maintains a temperature of 75°C with a noise limit of 35dBA, and it performs better than the Noctua model. What model is this?

Used a Masterbox Q300L with an open case and adjusted the front for better airflow. Overheating doesn’t seem to be caused by the case.
