I’m running Monster Hunter World on my PC with an Asus Strix 1080Ti graphics card and a Asus PG348Q 3440x1440 monitor. I verified the resolution, but it remains at its default value and cannot be altered. The system indicated that enabling HDR was necessary to adjust the resolution. Consequently, I examined the settings within my Windows 10, System & Display options, specifically under Display Capabilities Stream HDR Video, which reported “No,” along with “Play HDR games and apps: no” and “Use WCG apps: no.” Does this imply that I’m unable to utilize the full resolution of my monitor when playing Monster Hunter World? Thank you for your assistance!

I’m uncertain regarding the monitor’s high dynamic range features, however, my Windows 10 installation is the latest version and I’m employing a DisplayPort cable from my graphics card, which should eliminate that as a problem. Concerning the codecs, I am unclear on whether they are present on my system, how to ascertain their existence, or where to obtain them if needed.

I recently searched and installed a Codec Pack from Microsoft specifically designed for Windows 10 (64-bit).

Downloading WDDM 2.5 can be a lengthy process for those recording their observations.

It seems that WDDM 2.4 requires a sixth-generation processor or newer. Since I have a fifth-generation processor, it’s possible I should consider upgrading my CPU.
