I was interested in learning about the players who have tackled this title and their opinions. Although I haven’t played any games in this category, it has recently caught my attention. I’ve been curious about the potential price drop on Steam, which is now $29.99 and I don’t think it will fall further.

I've tried it and to be honest, a Civ V Complete edition would be a better choice since I thought Civilization V was more fun than Beyond Earth.

We're talking about Archangel together, right? If you haven't played any Civ games yet, Civ: Complete is probably the best starting point. I'm currently on Beyond Earth (thanks to my GPU), but I'm still figuring out if it's something I enjoy.

It offers a fresh experience compared to the older Sid games, with updated features and gameplay.

It seems dull and the overall vibe is quite bleak, making it hard to imagine expanding an empire. It feels much more empty compared to what you'd expect in Civilization VI, which makes it disappointing to spend money only to later complain about it.

I believe it's wise to pause then. Appreciate your feedback!

Get Civ V with the full set—it's a much improved experience! Vanilla Civ V is also excellent.

A fresh batch of hastily assembled waste that looks like it was pushed to shelves without proper completion.

I have both and I really like them both. I mix elements from Earth with the Web tech tree and the cool space theme, but at their heart they’re the same game. Since you haven’t played any game in this genre, I recommend starting with the Civ V complete edition—it’s more affordable. Then move on to Beyond Earth.
