Hello, I'm experiencing unexpected OS freezes that require a hard reset of my computer. I'm unsure what might be causing this or which components to check. I've reviewed the Event Viewer after the last crash, and the latest entry showed something related (refer to screenshot). It seems either the issue is directly linked to the freeze or my system isn't capturing the cause properly. My current setup has a Ryzen 5 5600 CPU and an RX 6650 XT GPU. Any advice would be really helpful.

Asus board issue? When it happens is it an immediate stop or will components cool down slowly? If yes to the first, and the second to the second, I believe I’ve identified the cause. Based on my tests and what I’ve read, Asus and Asrock have taken a fix from some older AGESA updates in our BIOS, which solved a problem where the Ryzen CPU requested too little voltage during idle or low load causing instability. I’ve tried many things, but turning on optimized phasers in BIOS seems to help. It sets the motherboard to choose the appropriate voltage for the CPU. You’ll find these settings under the VRM section in your BIOS if it’s an Asus board. Switch both CPU and SOC phases to optimized. Since then, I haven’t experienced any freezes. This seems to be a concern with budget boards running Ryzen 3000 and later (B450, B550, etc.).

1) This is a certificate error obviously, Internet Browser certificate error, how is the browser freezing your machine ? 2) You're in a workgroup listed as azure.net aka your login is a Domain login. 3) Was this machine working correctly ever ? 4) What's Changed Since ?

It's a B550m DS3H model from Gigabyte. The cooling can be very fast, but there were times it froze and audio kept playing through my headphones, like people talking during a game. Would you still consider trying it despite that issue?

This won't affect you negatively. If it doesn't resolve the issue, consider disabling c-states. Your concern might stem from another reason.

Thanks a lot for your time and feedback! I’ve enabled it in my BIOS, so the outcome will depend on that.

You're facing the same issue with the same motherboard, possibly indicating a manufacturing defect. Have you found a solution so far?
