I need some assistance with this situation. Due to factors beyond my control, I can't connect an Ethernet cable to my desktop. This problem has persisted for some time, but it's becoming increasingly bothersome, so I'm attempting a resolution. My expected download speed is around 250-300mbps, which should be possible on my phone in the same area as my desktop over the 5GHz network. On my PC, speeds are about 70mbps on 2.4GHz and 30mbps on 5GHz. I've tried various solutions listed below: I adjusted the channels my router uses for both networks, switched DNS servers on my desktop, kept my Wi-Fi card drivers updated, and ensured my PC specs match the details provided. I also used a specific SSD drive (Kingston 128GB SSDNOW300) with Windows 11 Home 22H2, and installed a fresh OS. This drive is currently temporary and will be replaced soon, along with a clean Windows installation. Please let me know if this relates to my issue—I'd appreciate any guidance. EDIT: Sorry for the quick change, accidentally hitting ENTER caused me to post early.

Do you possess a USB Wi-Fi link or a Wi-Fi card/motherboard setup? If the former, is the antenna connected?

It's the Wi-Fi signal source that most affects your connection quality.

The antennas are the two included with the WiFi card, located near the back of my case.

Connect directly to the motherboard. Place your phone on the antennae and check the speedtest results. Which Wi-Fi card do you use? Can you reduce interference from nearby devices or obstacles like metal shelves, ducts, pipes, tiles, or walls? Also, are there any noisy electronics or signal blockers in the path between the antennas and the router?

They're plugged into the wifi card, see attached image. And apologies, I meant to sepcify teh exact card in my PC Spec. WiFi Card: TP-Link Archer TX50E AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 Bluetooth 5.2 PCIe Adapter And there's nothing that I can realy do t remove obstacles. My PC sits on my desk next to my monitor. the only other real obstacles are walls/floors between it and the router. Due to my office and the router access point, neither can really be moved. Though, when putting my phone right next to the antenna for a speed test, it get's the same speeds as my pc: ~30mbps down. Would it perhaps be worthwhile trying a 3rd party shark-fin antenna?

Is there a monitor positioned between the router and the antennae? If yes, it might indicate a better setup with a left-side tower. You sacrifice the aesthetic appeal of the tower window, but you could achieve a full 100% speed boost. That means if the sharkfin isn’t helping, I’d suggest reaching out to TPLink to check their compatibility. I also installed an extender that actually weakened my signal—results vary.

I applied this on a PC with a missing antenna and it functioned perfectly. Strongly suggest it. The cable needs to be sufficiently long to shift it to the opposite side of your screen for improved signal and to maintain the visual alignment of your computer.
