Experiencing sluggish frame rates while gaming?
Greetings. I've observed that my frame rate in games such as Fortnite and PUBG is significantly lower than what I experienced with my previous graphics card (GTX 960). Despite having a GTX 1080 and an i7-4790k processor with 16GB of DDR3 RAM running at 1333MHz, I’m only achieving approximately 140-160 frames on minimum settings and around 80-60 frames on maximum settings. I've noticed that many others with similar hardware configurations are consistently attaining around 140-160 frames on maximum settings. Could you shed some light on this discrepancy?
Your processor and memory performance are limited, possibly causing a restriction with your graphics card. You can investigate this by monitoring system activity.
Greetings:
Have you executed DDU in safe mode to eliminate your previous graphics card drivers and then reinstalled them when you upgraded your GPU?
Thank you for responding. No, I haven't. Should I do this now? If so, how would I accomplish that, and could this be the reason you suspect a problem?
The performance of your processor and random access memory is limited, potentially restricting the capabilities of your graphics card. You can investigate this in your system monitoring tools. My own CPU usage was consistently around 60%, and my memory usage hovered at approximately 40%, though I’m not certain about that.
Improvements have been implemented for graphics processing units when initial drivers are installed, and it’s generally recommended to remove the previous drivers entirely and begin with a fresh installation each time an upgrade occurs.
