Experiencing sluggish frame rates despite a capable computer system.
My hardware includes an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor running at 2.80 GHz, 16 GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB of VRAM. I also have a 128 GB SSD. Recently, I began playing State of Decay 2, and despite my system exceeding its recommended specifications (Intel Core i5, at least 2 GB of RAM, and a GeForce GT 240), I'm unable to achieve 60 frames per second, even on the standard graphics setting. Similarly, when playing Far Cry 5 (which also meets its requirements), I'm stuck at below 60 fps, even with settings reduced to low. Is this typical?
Inspect your display settings within the game to see if vsync is activated. If it is, deactivate it and save your adjustments. It's advisable to relaunch the game afterward.
If I turn off vertical synchronization, I experience screen tearing.
