Your recent upgrade to the Gigabyte GTX 970 with an Intel Core i5-4690 seems to be delivering solid visual performance, though the frame rates are still modest at around 30 FPS even on medium settings. It’s possible that the GPU is not fully utilizing the processor’s potential, or there might be other factors affecting performance. The i5-4690 is indeed a capable chip, but its real strength shines in gaming and multitasking rather than raw gaming frames. If you’re looking for higher FPS, consider checking your GPU settings, ensuring drivers are up to date, or exploring a more powerful GPU if budget allows. Let me know if you’d like advice on optimizing settings!

The processor is operating normally. Are there any background applications or DSR active?

Verify your preferences. It looks like you're achieving 60fps+ on ultra without much trouble.

Ensure resolution scaling stays at or below 125%.

Review your graphics card, gaming options, and overclocking tools, since some themes include a "set FPS target" feature.

You haven't installed GPU drivers or applied Windows updates, and you haven't checked your BIOS settings.

I'm using the same GPU and Dynamic Super Resolution above 2715X1527, but it's causing a significant drop in frames. Even at 2715X1527 I only manage 40-50 FPS, so I switch to Ultra and it works well.

Seems like iGpu is being utilized instead of 970.

I connected it to the graphics card and attempted an update again. I also have a solid SSD, so I’m unsure what the next steps will be. Thanks!
