Your connection speed is much lower than expected. Check for network issues, outdated drivers, or interference. Ensure your cable is properly connected and consider upgrading to a faster cable or switch.

Testing speed on specific sites and checking your ISP details is helpful. Are you located in the United States?

Have you checked Verizon's website and used their speed tester? Consider trying other sites such as speedtest.net. Key points to think about: verify your cable is intact, restart your router and device, test with a different cable, and confirm your router supports gigabit speeds. Cat7 cables are shielded and can reach up to 100 meters, so distance isn't the main issue. Noise from external lines or poor connections at the source or junction may affect performance. Are you living in an apartment or house? How long have you experienced slow speeds?

I own an ASUS router designed for gigabit speeds. I connected my cat 7 cable from the basement box to the router upstairs, and then extended it to my room via another cat 7 connection. After rebooting my computer and internet, I received a link to the cable: Amazon.com: Outdoor Cat 7 Ethernet Cable 100 ft, ShineKee 26AWG Heavy-Duty Cat7 Networking Cord Patch Cable RJ45 10 Gigabit 600MHz LAN Wire Cable STP Waterproof Direct Burial Ethernet Cable: Computers & Accessories.

This cable is definitely more than what you need. Could other sites offer comparable performance? If yes, the problem might lie with the connection point outside your home. I’d call Verizon to verify they can test it on their side and confirm if the issue is theirs. Have you ever received the advertised speeds before, or has this been an ongoing concern since installation?

I might test the performance using a 1-foot cable close to the router.
