I attempted to connect my phone via hotspot while traveling across many small towns in BC. My location kept the signal between 150 and 180, with the hotel offering similar stability. The main advantage was reduced packet loss. In larger towns with 5GHz Wi-Fi, I notice better performance since the network is less crowded. At my current stay, I'm using 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, which causes significant stuttering.
