This occurs consistently each time I download a game. The download starts smoothly, but after 10GB, my internet drops to just 2mbps. I assumed the problem was with my router, so my ISP replaced it with a newer model, yet the issue persists. I’m on their 20mbps plan in the Philippines, and a nearby friend has a 120mbps plan. Both use the same router model, but I still face the same slowdown. Is this related to my ISP? Do they have a data cap or some mechanism that limits speeds based on traffic? Thanks for your help—I really need this resolved now.

You haven’t checked the router hardware yet—it looks like the swap and conversation with your friend helped eliminate that possibility. Where are you getting games from? Are there any limits on downloads in your system or game client? If not, it’s possible your ISP is slowing down big downloads. You’ll need to confirm further.

It seems the ISP doesn’t appreciate your calls. If you keep reaching out, they might stop blocking you once they see you’ve noticed. Or they could hold off until you upgrade your plan and mention you’re ready to pay. You can let them know you’ll move on if needed.

I don’t have a phone myself, but their rival offers you a free landline with your internet connection. I’ve reached out each time I encounter the problem, and they even resolved it once. Usually it takes an hour or two for my internet to return to normal, though they fixed it once when I contacted them. It worked... For about two hours lol You can reach their customer support via Twitter, so a phone isn’t really necessary

They often treat their basic plans poorly, trying to push people into better options. Fixing issues usually requires you to push harder or leave. The problem is so widespread it could warrant a class action, but they’ll come up with excuses to avoid responsibility, no matter how obvious it is.

yeah. after dozens of messages, a few hundred curses, they've never given me a straight answer. Been bothering them often cuz I built my first PC a month ago (yahoo), and I've been downloading my games, and getting new ones. I've already told them that there is an extremely high possibility that I'll switch, but I can't switch now cuz my lock in period doesn't end till October 2022. Even though I've said that they never fixed it. I truly believe that they have this evil tactic to get their low tier subs to upgrade. I'll try doing that, but if it's still like this, then I'll switch

Also another thing. When I tell them I know what's going on, they will tell me "its taking longer than usual for our representative to reply. we will switch you over to a new one right now" and then my internet will restart itself lol. And when the connection is back on, my internet is still broken lol

Of course, in court they might just claim there was some unexpected interference or that typical problems arise when lots of people are online simultaneously. All the usual arguments.
