For a brief history of events, my computer was functioning smoothly with Fortnite just fine—consistent 120 frames per second in creative mode and around 100 in public matches. However, suddenly I began noticing sharp drops in FPS and frequent freezes. During public matches, my character’s skin would fail to load and it would appear as if it were stuck. When I landed, the buildings wouldn’t display correctly and I couldn’t enter them properly. At the same time, I was stuck at 90 FPS, with my frames often freezing or dropping to just five per second. By this point, the game became completely unplayable. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve tried various fixes: updating drivers, switching to DirectX12, optimizing in NVIDIA GeForce Experience, reinstalling drivers, adjusting Windows settings, disabling startup programs, boosting CPU and GPU, lowering Fortnite’s priority in Task Manager, and even renaming the game file. My PC specs are: Intel i5-4460 CPU, 16GB RAM, Windows 10 Pro. It’s worth mentioning I also have Adobe software installed—Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop—which works without issues. I also have GTA 5 running steadily at about 60 FPS, which performs much better than Fortnite. This situation is particularly frustrating for me as a content creator on YouTube, making it nearly impossible to enjoy Fortnite. If you could assist in any way, I would be deeply grateful.

Try DDU. Also, it seems like a lot of the things that you have tried are snake oil at best and malware at worst. Get rid of these changes: *Getting rid of bloatware is fine, but hopefully you didn't disable anything important. **There is no software that will boost your CPU/GPU performance aside from overclocking software. This seems super fishy to me.

Thank you for your feedback. I’ll remove the CPU/GPU optimization software to test its impact on gameplay. Your concerns are noted—there might have been something important disabled, especially since I didn’t have restore points before my PC’s short usage period. I should also mention I use Malwarebytes and Ccleaner regularly, and neither has shown any threats in those tools.

For a brief time on the PC, consider a new Windows 10 setup. Otherwise, attempt DDU. Follow every guidance carefully.
