I've already posted about this on the MSI forums, but I believe I'll find better assistance here than on another site. Recently, my MSI GP66 laptop has been reporting constant DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURES. Before this problem started, I was using Windows 10, but I upgraded both my laptop and desktop to Windows 11. After the switch, my new laptop runs smoothly, while the old one still shows BSOD errors. I've tried nearly every possible fix without success. Here are the steps I've attempted: 1) Updating Windows 2) Running SFC scan 3) Using DDU 4) Installing GPU drivers 5) Updating all drivers via DriverEasy 6) Cleaning BIOs 7) Performing a virus scan. I've tried almost everything possible except a full factory reset or reinstall of Windows. This is my last option because my work laptop holds important personal data. I've uploaded my Perfmon and dmp files to Google Drive for reference. Links are provided below. If anyone has an alternative solution that doesn't require a clean install or a hard reset—especially one I haven't tried yet—please share it. Thanks. Dmp zip file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wYrJI-B...sp=sharing Perfmon zip file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AvwaR_C...sp=sharing Edit: Changed permissions on both links; they were accidentally restricted. Should now be accessible. Let me know if you have any ideas. My specs: Laptop: MSI GP66, OS: Windows 11 x64, CPU: Intel i7 11th gen, GPU: RTX 3080, RAM: 32 GB, SSD: 1 TB.

Save these copies carefully to ensure strong data protection, following the 3-2-1 rule. Personal files are critical—keep them secure. File permissions on Google Drive must be adjusted.

I realize the issue now. For my personal files, I should begin with the 3-2-1 backup plan if I can't resolve this. Note: I adjusted the permissions on both Google drive links.

The USB devices I typically connect are my Logitech G502, an external battery (occasionally), and my Razer Huntsman Mini keyboard. These are generally the ones I use while working. I only have three USB ports on this laptop, yet the problem continues even when nothing is plugged in.

Visit the manufacturer's site at the provided link. Retrieve the USB/chipset driver files and install them. Check if ShareX is still running; remove it if present and verify whether the BSOD persists.

I don’t think ShareX is set up on my machine. A quick check of my installed apps didn’t show any links to that program. I’ll move forward with updating the USB chipset drivers. If you’re unsure whether it’s installed or not, you can look for it in your system settings or search for “ShareX” in your app directory.

Appears when installing programs. If missing, verify presence in Program files or background task manager.

Located it and removed it successfully. The main issue seems to be elsewhere. Your USB devices were referenced, but after updating drivers via DriverEasy and installing the chipset driver, the problem continues.

DriverEasy and the driver setup tool aren’t the best options. It’s better to visit the manufacturer’s site directly. ShareX was the final step before the BSOD appeared, suggesting it often triggers issues. I’ll keep an eye on the situation.
