I've experienced these problems for more than a year now. Two things seem to happen at the same time—unpredictable lag that repeats daily, slowing audio briefly and making screen elements appear frozen for a second before returning. The other issue is sudden crashes where the display goes black and then the system restarts without warning. No alerts appear, no shutdown messages, nothing unusual. I lose my progress randomly, whether I'm gaming, editing, watching videos, or streaming. It happens frequently—sometimes multiple times an hour, other times just once a week. The problem doesn't depend on what I'm doing. My event logs show many errors and warnings, including one from this morning when I was walking back and saw my system finish a restart with ID 13, warning about a volume shadow copy service and a system shutdown in progress. Another ID is 41, linked to task category 63, noting the reboot happened without a clean shutdown. The keywords suggest something related to system instability or background processes. Despite updating all cables, power sources, and software regularly, the issue remains unresolved. I've tried reverting overclock settings and undervolts, but it still persists. My hardware specs are listed above, and everything seems fine when I check. I'm running out of options and ideas for a fix.
I've experienced the same problems with XMP settings—currently they're enabled. I haven't experimented with c-states; I had to research what they do. I didn't alter the BIOS defaults. Both SSDs were bought in September 2021. Attached are screenshots. The Wi-Fi antennas are present but turned off since I'm using Ethernet. Apart from that, I use a wireless mouse with a G502 and a Bluetooth dongle for PlayStation controllers. Speakers connect through optical ports, while headphones plug into a 3.5mm jack on the motherboard. I also have a Blackwidow Ultimate connected via USB, two monitors via DisplayPort, plus a Blueyetu connected by USB for backups. I'll try using c-states and see if it improves things, then make further updates. Appreciate the advice!
I turned off C-states and noticed fewer lag spikes so far, though shutdowns still occur. After the latest one, the Event Viewer displayed an event (previously marked critical) with ID 6008 and locale 4105. I checked it up and ran sfc /scannow, which found and fixed errors. I’m hoping this resolves the issue, but I’ll keep updating my notes. Appreciate the tip!

I'm not entirely sure if I fixed the problem, but after updating the bios and chipset drivers, re-enabling c-states, and removing several programs, lag spikes disappeared. This was mentioned in the bios update, which is good to see. I experienced a crash before, and I realized I hadn't re-enabled c-states after the update. Since then, it's been about a week with no crashes or lag. I'm marking this as resolved now and hope I don't need another post later.
