This situation is unusual. I'm attempting to connect my M.2 drive to an ASUS motherboard, but there aren't any threads for the M.2 screw. I've installed the drive and have one screw, yet the motherboard lacks a thread in the 2280 M.2 slot—it's just a regular hole. Only other sizes have threads, but specifically for 2280 there isn't one on the board for the M.2 screw. I'm unsure why it's missing only for that size. Can I fix this? The hole is slightly larger than the screw, so mounting seems impossible. I've had to use electrical tape to secure it. Any suggestions? Thanks ahead!

I haven't tried it myself, but you could possibly use a screw and standoff from the case or motherboard. Tape might work too (though it may not look great); I've used a 2.5" SSD for years without any tape.
