Experiencing problems with all streaming applications on Windows 10?
I will explain my situation in my own words and share what steps I've taken to resolve it. This issue appears with OBS studio, SLOBS, xSplit, and similar tools between 20-50 minutes into a stream, recording, or when the software is idle. The preview window stutters briefly—lasting a few minutes—and this effect carries over to live streaming or recording. It can last anywhere from 4 to 5 minutes or even longer if I restart the program. This problem occurs with every capture method, including capture cards and NDI. Initially, it started in October on my computer (Ryzen 1700x, MSI b350m Bazooka, 1070 FE, 16GB RAM). At first, I dismissed it, but after watching replays in November, I realized it was more significant than I thought. I checked updates for Windows, drivers, and BIOS, but it didn’t help. Then I reinstalled Windows and reset everything. When that failed, I replaced various components—power supply, RAM, motherboard, GPU, CPU, and storage drives—to try to identify the cause. Throughout this process, I’ve performed extensive tests: thermal checks, network diagnostics, power testing, memory assessments, latency evaluations, and used tools like WDM and dxgi. I even submitted my findings to OBS developers. Despite all these efforts, the stutter persists. Now I have two separate computers running Windows 10 with no shared hardware, yet both face the same problem. I’ve tried multiple fresh installs of Windows, updated drivers, and tested older versions. I’ve also run stress tests, latency tests, and performance checks. I’m exhausted and feel like I’ve exhausted all possibilities. I just need someone with expertise to help fix this. Please avoid suggesting simple fixes like changing permissions or checking game mode. I’ve already done everything possible and am at my limit. I really need a solution.
