I bought a Sapphire RX 6600 and noticed my GPU usage changes wildly in games—sometimes hitting 98-99% and other times dropping to just 1%. This causes big lag spikes. At first, I thought it was overheating, so I added four case fans to keep things steady at around 65°C. The issue still exists. Could you suggest ways to fix this? Also, check out the Gameplays I went through The Lag here: https://youtu.be/uP_AYLY-rrI

System details requested. Previous GPU model? Please share. Did you attempt to uninstall DDU and refresh graphics drivers?

GPU: Sapphire RX 6600 RAM: 8GB CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (8 cores, 16 threads) Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M K (considered possibly suboptimal) RAM: 16GB Team Group, 3200MHz PSU: 700W Sharkoon (bought from a friend, exact model unclear) Case: Aerocool Bolt Mini (assumed not ideal) I also had an 1050 TI but formatted the drive.

The problem is really severe. I've dealt with Radeon cards before but never this much trouble. What finally resolved my issues was SAM. It instantly cleared up the stutters and really improved my day. Try turning on smart access memory in the BIOS and check its performance. Double-check all AMD drivers and chipset settings are installed properly. If that doesn't help, it might be a faulty GPU.

Using smart access memory offers similar results, but without it there is no distinction.

It's frustrating. I'd bet on the card if I could test it and see what's going on. Keep an eye on the card's speed and CPU performance during games—fluctuations usually point to hardware or software problems.

You can observe this in the video, though the interface is in German. Thankfully the behavior remains clear, even with the clock fluctuating.

I still have my previous 1050 unit (with driver reinstalled), and the performance drops aren’t close to what the older GPU could handle. I had to reduce graphics settings, but they didn’t help much until the AsRock release comes. I feel fine with this GPU now.

It seems the 1050 is maintaining a consistent clock speed. A few users faced problems with the 6600 when using multiple displays. Did you have more than one display active? Just to check.
