Experiencing odd internet problems when using your phone as a mobile hotspot.
Before anyone mentions "real internet," I can't. I relocated to a remote area with limited connectivity and rely on my phone's hotspot. Here are the problems: 1. The hotspot consistently activates around 7-8 PM every day. It only works at that specific time. Even when switching phones, the issue persists. 2. I need an Ethernet cable from my PS5 to my PC for stable internet access. However, whenever I use it, connectivity drops unpredictably. Sometimes turning off and back on resolves the problem, other times adjusting the IP settings (like IPv6) helps restore service.
I'll handle that when I wake up later. It might matter if I set defaultcurhoplimit=65 in cmd to skip the hotspot cap, though I'm not sure it changed things. Even with a direct USB connection via PC for internet, I still faced connectivity problems.
It's common with mobile networks. I used Vodafone with a 4G router recently and found my VPN would frequently drop and not reconnect. On other devices or connections, it usually worked smoothly. Using phone tethering was much worse—phones aren't built for extended tethering.
