Experiencing no internet access.
Currently, my internet is unstable with frequent drops this weekend. The service provider hasn’t provided any assistance. I’ve restarted the system three times. I can connect to the routers, but they don’t reach the internet. My setup includes a DASAN H665 for fiber conversion, which feeds an RT-AX3000 master router, and that router connects to another RT-AX3000 in the mesh configuration. Someone with expertise would be really helpful.
You seem to have a DNS issue or some port/protocol problems. Updated April 10, 2022 by Bombastinator
I agree, there are steps I can take to help address the problem.
There is a possibility it’s a closed port of something. Looking at the logs might help. They could say where it was failing.
I assessed whether there was no internet connection by trying to ping 8.8.8.8. If the ping succeeded, it suggested a DNS issue. Setting up a manual DNS like 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 would likely resolve the problem. A brief restart of everything often fixes such issues. You can also verify if your edge router receives a public IP from your ISP.
Thanks for the update. Your provider sent some technicians who checked it out. It seems you were receiving too much heat from the signal, which caused the DASAN to shut down. They confirmed your connection could support about 40 homes.
Lol. There’s an unfortunate term. I don’t know if that is an acronym or a company name but it’s a not uncommon southeast Asian first name. So there are a whole bunch of dudes in China going “wha??” or whatever the equivelant in Chinese is (might very well be “wha??” I never learned Chinese idiom)
