Experiencing low frame rates despite having a reasonably powerful computer.
Hello, it has been one year since I have experienced this issue, and I believe it is time for me to address it. I own an Aurora R7 (please do not offer criticism regarding its construction or suggest I should have built it myself; I am aware of these considerations). My PC consistently exhibits low frame rates, which is abnormal.
Here are my specifications: Intel i7 8700 3.20 GHz, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5. I achieve approximately 30 frames per second at low-medium graphics settings, which I believe is not typical. My monitor is a 60 Hz display connected via HDMI to the graphics card (I believe this connection is correct; it is my first gaming PC).
Currently, while writing this with Chrome and an antivirus program running in the background, Task Manager displays the following: CPU – 5%, Memory – 35%, Disk – 4%. It is possible that a memory issue exists, or that a configuration problem is contributing to the issue, given that this is my first PC. I am using performance mode in Windows settings instead of balanced mode. My drivers are up to date. I have disabled the included graphics card from the Aurora R7 (I initially suspected this was the cause).
This situation is frustrating; I do not understand how I tolerated it for so long. I hope someone can assist me. As a final option, I considered erasing my entire PC and installing a game to test its functionality, but I would prefer to identify the problem before resorting to that solution, possibly due to a configuration issue.
I tested these with Minecraft Java in full screen at 1080p x something. I used HWMONITOR to get temperatures and the Task Manager’s Performance tab. The problem is I have never had a PC before, so I do not exactly know if it is the motherboard or the GPU. Following what I have seen online, I believe the issue is with the graphics card, which is plugged into the HDMI port in the rear; three other display ports are available with it. GTX 1060
