It's a USB Wi-Fi adapter known for connection problems. They experienced similar issues on your PC until you switched to Ethernet. You might want to try alternative drivers, but otherwise the best options seem to be a Wi-Fi card or Ethernet cable.

Adjust the power management option in the device drivers. By default, it saves energy by shutting down the device when idle. Switch it to Full Power and observe the results.

It's brand new, but I've only been using it for about two weeks and I'm not sure why it's malfunctioning.

It seems like the issue might be with the drivers or software rather than a physical malfunction.

Attempted it again but issue persists. Still experiencing problems even over Ethernet.

It functions properly while the PC is idle, but when launching online games or visiting websites, performance slows and the connection drops. Troubleshooting shows the default gateway is set and it restarts after two minutes.

The issue was resolved due to a Windows update. Changing from Home to Pro version fixed it.
