I recently installed a CAT6 cable from Amazon in my home office, bedroom, and living room. Each end was properly terminated with the T568-B color code. When connecting it to my Ubiquiti Ampli HD router, no signal appeared on either device. I also tested it with a Netgear GS108 switch, but the issue persisted. I attempted a crossover by swapping one end to T568-A and the other to T568-B, then tried connecting the cable in two stages—first to the router, then to the switch—but neither setup worked. I double-checked the color codes and confirmed the RJ45 connectors were properly aligned. Since the run is only about 50 feet, I’m puzzled as to why it’s not functioning correctly.

Obtain a cable tester. Crimping cable ends isn't guaranteed to succeed.
