I'm facing issues with my Phenom II X3. It takes a long time to open anything, and YouTube stutters when I do anything in the background. I tried using Windows on an old SSD I own, which worked better, so I assumed the hard drive was slow. After a speed test, it showed the drive was only 5% slower than expected. I installed Ubuntu on the SSD and everything is still the same. My CPU looks fine, but I’m worried about what’s happening. I’m planning to upgrade to an X6 soon, so if I just have to wait, I’ll figure it out myself. Please, experienced folks, help me out!

It could be an issue with the CPU. There was a reason tri-cores didn’t really succeed...

Actually, triple-core CPUs didn't become popular because it wasn't financially viable for CPU makers. However, it might point to another issue with the CPU itself. How does the CPU performance look during YouTube video playback?

I'm streaming on Twitch and it's currently at 18%, which is acceptable.
