Since January I've been attempting an upgrade from the AMD FX 8320/Asrock 990FX Extreme4 to an x570 w AMD 3700x. It's not because it's faulty, but due to timing. I've tested around ten different motherboards, adjusting card slots and configurations. After rebooting, drivers stopped responding for failed units. Each one would display the VGA light (POST indicators) before hanging. I've tried Asrock Extreme 4, Asus Strix 570E gaming, Asus Hero VIII, and now the Asus Strix 550F Gaming. I made sure the CPU and memory were properly seated, power was flowing correctly through the CPU ports and VGA card, and the memory used was Gskill Trident Z royal F4-3200C16D-32GTRS. The card performed well on my old system, so it's not broken. I've also used XFX Radeon 5700XT, a Saphire Radeon 480, and an older AMD 4850 card—all confirmed functional in previous setups. I switched power supplies three times: PC Power n cooling 860, 750, and a new EVGA 650GS. Even after sending the last board to a repair shop, results remained consistent. It's really puzzling—I'm struggling to believe my luck is so poor that ten boards failed. Any advice would be appreciated!

I expect the RAM post light would indicate faulty memory, but it didn’t. I actually purchased additional RAM for board #7 since the listed amount wasn’t available in QVL, yet it didn’t assist. There’s no way to adjust XMP or OC without accessing the BIOS. The two that functioned briefly confirmed both RAM and CPU, but they stopped working on reboot when it came to VGA recognition again. Even those two couldn’t start properly without some workaround for the VGA card—whether re-seating or swapping slots.
