PC has been crashing repeatedly lately and showing many errors such as writing in read-only mode. I don’t have anything useful on the machine, so I reset it to factory settings. After that, it crashed again when I reinstalled Windows. I tried booting from an older Windows HD drive, but it still crashes. The hardware includes an i7 9700k CPU, an ASUS 1080 GPU, 32 GB DDR4 RAM (four sticks), an ASUS Maximus ix motherboard, and a 750-watt power supply. I’ve tested booting with just one RAM stick, but it still fails frequently. The PC is now sitting idle, and I really want to get it working again, especially for gaming. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Consider examining the Event Viewer to review activity right before the crashes. This might reveal a particular problem and guide you toward a solution. The Event Viewer should be accessible in Safe Mode, which is reliable, allowing you to carefully inspect the logs.
