Greetings, I recently acquired DOOM Eternal for PC, however, I’m experiencing significantly reduced frame rates during both the Campaign and Multiplayer modes. Despite adjusting the graphical settings to their lowest configurations, the gameplay remains barely viable, with an average frame rate of 45 and occasional drops to as low as 25! My system specifications are as follows: Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit), Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Memory: Viper 4GB (2x8) DDR4 3200MHz, Storage: ADATA SX900 SSD (64 GB) and a Toshiba DT01ACA200 HDD (2000 GB) alongside a SAMSUNG HD502HI HDD (500 GB), Display Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (3.00 GB), Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 AORUS M, Monitor: Samsung c24f390 24" LED Curved Monitor. While I acknowledge the limitations of my outdated graphics card, I had anticipated a more playable experience with DOOM. Are other users encountering similar issues concerning low frame rates? I recently reviewed Passmark benchmarks, noting a score of 780 which is just marginally above the minimum acceptable level of 1050 Ti. Regarding inquiries about 780’s compatibility with Vulkan, Nvidia lists it as supported on their driver page; however, this does not guarantee optimal performance leveraging Vulkan's advantages compared to more recent GPU architectures. Essentially, predicting outcomes is difficult when utilizing a minimum-spec card, particularly in demanding games and with older graphics processing units. Results will vary significantly based on graphical settings employed within the game and the amount of available video memory. The 780 was initially offered in both 3GB and 6GB configurations, and the lower capacity would likely impose considerable limitations when running a title such as this.
The GTX 780 is quite dated now; you’re essentially asking if a seven-year-old graphics card should still handle modern games flawlessly. While it’s capable of more than just adjusting graphical settings, performance is influenced by factors beyond that. Perhaps they do not support any GPU and are not configured with the correct preference for a GTX780... You can play if you have an older GPU this is fortunate or a top-tier model...

Verify that your system’s RAM speed is indeed 3200MHz; confirm this setting within the computer's BIOS.
