I'm experiencing problems with my latest build. Almost every game freezes. I've checked the MSI After Burner logs to look for any errors. Some tests ran quickly, others took longer. I closed them after a few stutters. My setup includes an EVGA RTX 2070 S XC RYZEN 2700X stock cooler, Asus Prime X470 Pro with two 8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM at 3000MHZ PSU, and the Corsair RM850X power supply. I only have one HDD, no SSD. Could this be the cause? Check the MSI AFTER BURNER LOG here: https://we.tl/t-lSWRqJi51R

Those specifications mean you're likely experiencing slow performance because of the HDD. It's not ideal to have a high-end system paired with a low-quality mechanical drive.

Have you updated your drivers? If not, do it and install an SSD. It won’t cause stuttering but will give you much faster loading times. Also, avoid overloading the system. I encountered this issue before when I was running +162 and +900.

I'm really pushing my card to 95 degrees overclock and will run an automatic overclock test to see what it suggests.

Top choice also matches what @ Dimondminer11 mentioned—purchase an SSD or Optane if you prefer.

Sure, I think we should probably get a 250GB SSD for Windows.

I'm glad to hear it worked. Your GPU performance is stable now, and the stuttering has disappeared. The CPU reaching 100% is normal under load.

Gaming with full CPU power can be risky. Your PC might freeze during key moments, especially online. While 100% CPU usage isn’t dangerous if it stays under safe limits, it’s still something to consider.

XMP support is active and won't impact performance.
