I wasn’t rushing into anything. I was looking for a quicker SSD and thought it’d be a good time to pick one up during the sale. Just to illustrate, I’m thinking about hunt showdown, apex, and siege.

These are classic games that support multiplayer, designed to work with older HDDs or slower SSDs. It’s unlikely the slow SSD is the main issue. Have you verified your RAM settings? Ensure it’s set to 3600 and XMP/DOCP is activated. Did you update the chipset drivers and remove the previous GPU drivers using DDU before installing the new ones?

Avoid installing windows on the new M2 drive. Your feedback will improve things. For performance issues, download and run gpu-z during gameplay. Capture a screenshot of the sensor data (graphs) once you notice stuttering.

Consider updating to Windows 11 or keep the current version. You plan to download it tomorrow on a new drive.

Performing a fresh Windows installation on a new SSD. The CPU-Z graphs show everything functioning properly—CPU performance and GPU usage remain consistent. I've included the log file for your review if you'd like to examine it. There were two gaming sessions, including moments of stuttering. The GPU-Z Sensor Log.txt is attached.

Aye, looks normal. This points to a software issue. If you haven’t installed ALL drivers for the motherboard, that’s step 1. I’ve seen missing audio drivers or network drivers cause this kind of thing. Next, check your device manager for any . Fix any issues you find there. From there it gets difficult. Could be a peripheral plugged into usb as well. Basically the issue is that the system is waiting on a response from a component and can’t continue to execute before that response is received. It shows up as a stutter when playing a game.

Updated the latest audio driver, used a chipset from the motherboard, software chipset, and GPU drivers are current. I’ll send an update once I’ve played a few games!

New developments are emerging. Games are experiencing crashes following the installation of updated drivers. Here’s the file from CPUZ—please let me know if you notice anything unusual. Could installing the same driver multiple times lead to such issues? GPU-Z Sensor Log.txt

The 990 Pro firmware had prior problems. After updating, it’s functioning properly now. Some stutters remain but are less common.
