Hi, I just got my new prebuilt PC and noticed the CPU temps spike during startup. After rebooting, temperatures normalize. Here are the specs: case iBUYPOWER Slate MONO MR Tempered Glass, AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (6 cores @ 3.7GHz, 32MB L3 cache), iBUYPOWER 120mm RGB liquid cooling, 16GB DDR4-3200MHz memory, GeForce RTX 3060 with 12GB GDDR6 VRAM, 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD plus a 1TB HDD, B550 AC power supply rated 600W (80 PLUS Gold). It's confirmed, the device begins at 60°C and continues to rise until it safely shuts down to avoid CPU damage. Disabling all startup apps didn't prevent this issue. After a restart, temperatures remain steady at 30°C with no applications running.
It seems there might be an issue with the pump not starting initially. Turning off and turning it back on could resolve the problem. Also, verify the connection to the motherboard, especially the CPU cooler. @ShrimpBrime
I verified the cable for my cooler and confirmed everything is plugged in correctly. I understand it might require a restart, but I’m concerned about potential long-term effects on my CPU or other parts. Should I just leave it or contact IBP for a refund or replacement? Also, I bought it on January 23, 2022.
The AIO is connected to either the water pump header or the CPU fan header. Both should provide power when you press the power button. The CPU fan header typically needs power as well. It might help to reset the CMOS to rule out any unusual behavior from the BIOS.
