Experiencing a drastically reduced FPS compared to expectations

I own an FX-6350 and a RX-460 with 2GB RAM. According to the benchmarks, I expect around 60-100 fps on most games, but I'm averaging about 45. My monitor is 75Hz, and I've verified my GPU settings—frame rates aren't being limited.

Yeah, I'm worried a FX 6350 might be outdated and not perform well these days. Have you checked out any YouTube videos showing games on your specs?

I mostly play Skyrim and Fallout. I checked videos of gameplay with my specs, and it looks like most people are getting better performance, though the reliability isn't clear. I'm mainly trying to see if my hardware is holding me back before upgrading. Would a Ryzen 5 2600x be a good upgrade?

What is the display resolution you use? What amount of RAM does your computer have, and what is the RAM speed? You have dual channel configuration with two sticks.

Maybe the standards you noticed involve overclocked parts, various resolutions or graphics configurations, or another operating system than what I have. These are just ideas, and I could be mistaken.

The answer is clearly there. DDR3-1600 RAM can greatly reduce your gaming performance.
