Experiences frequent PC freezes with resistors making contact.
Recently my PC freezes unexpectedly during gameplay and immediately when I start Apex Legends. When it freezes, the system just stops completely—mouse remains unresponsive, screen stays static, audio cuts out. Once I left it idle for 30 minutes, it didn’t restart or react. I attempted to remove the driver using DDU and reinstall the game, but that didn’t resolve the issue. Also, validating and reinstalling the game didn’t help either. I checked the event logs but found nothing helpful. However, after taking the GPU out for inspection, I noticed two resistors touching, which seems unusual and matches what images online show. My concern is whether this is typical behavior (card model: MSI GeForce RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X PLUS 10G OC LHR).
It seems something appears damaged in that area. The cause isn’t clear, but maybe swapping in a different PCI-E card could resolve the issue. I’m not sure if that’s the right fix, but you might want to try it.

Maybe you're misunderstanding what's happening? It seems like someone, perhaps Igor, created a story online that didn't make sense. Try to think more clearly—this wasn't a real problem before. The issue with the cards was they were drawing too much power at once, which caused temporary spikes in the power supplies.
