Hmm, it's unclear what might be leading to these problems. Have you attempted using another video output on your GPU? Also, verify the voltage supplied to your power supply. I don't know your location or whether your PSU includes active PFC, but inconsistencies could exist. Have you kept the same boot drive throughout? It might be failing or becoming slower. You could also consider updating the BIOS on your motherboard and see if that resolves the issue.
Did you not update the firmware, reinstall the operating system, and reset the storage before proceeding?
I lack the ability to manage humidity levels. I switched from a PNY CS3030 to the KC3000 beforehand, so similar issues shouldn’t arise with both models. The firmware on the KC3000 is current, and no updates are available. After four years of hardware changes, the likelihood of problems seems minimal. I haven’t experimented with alternative outputs since my monitor only supports HDMI. I’ve also used several GPUs previously, none of which point to this cause. When testing voltage under load, no irregular readings were detected. These conditions also appear during idle operation, with much more normal values then. You probably haven’t done this setup in four years? Everything seems fine...
I hope a solution comes together for you because this seems really frustrating! Personally, I’d be concerned about similar issues with a new console. Modern consoles are quite similar to PCs—they include NVMe drives, cooling systems, and other tech components. If you or someone you know has an old console, it might be worth testing first. Alternatively, you could move your PC setup to another room if you haven’t already. It’s a bit tedious but doesn’t require any expense. Maybe it’s worth a try. Sorry, I meant to ask if they have any ideas about what might be causing this problem. They could discover something useful. Or it could turn out that nothing is wrong—your shop has handled it before. There’s also the possibility of a manufacturing warranty. This assumes you’re willing to invest time in investigation. You could use a dehumidifier, though it does cost. I’ve heard rock salt or charcoal can help reduce humidity. But if you think humidity might be the issue (like living near the ocean or in a rainy area), getting a low-cost sensor to verify could be a good first step.
I’ve reinstalled Windows, but I’m not sure if I’m also installing all the same programs as before or just fresh software and drivers. It’s possible a particular app is causing the problem. Also, it seems a mouse fix was recommended—do you use a wireless mouse? In crowded Wi-Fi areas, a wireless mouse or keyboard can sometimes lag.
I had to reinstall Windows multiple times (including versions 10 and 11). I suspected some programs or drivers might be causing the issue, so I tested without installing most of the software I later installed (like Armoury Crate, ICUE, etc.). Still, no fix found. I've tried setting up Windows offline with a local account and manually installing drivers, but it didn't help. I also attempted to install drivers directly through the Windows Update feature, but it had no impact.
Occasionally it looks like most issues are resolved, which is probably just my perception. Sometimes it feels great, other times it's really frustrating. I don’t understand why it’s happening.
