About a week ago I performed a factory reset on my computer, reinstalling Windows 10. A few days later I wanted to play some games, so I installed a few and about ten minutes later while my computer froze I had to shut it down through the tower. Over time I couldn't solve the problem and eventually when it crashed it now displays BSOD errors with several codes. There have been around three so far, two of which were SYSTEM SERVICE EXECEPTION and IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. From what I understand, it's definitely a hardware issue and it seems related to my GPU since it mostly occurs while playing a game. I've tried many fixes from forums and nothing has worked. What confuses me is how this problem appeared after the factory reset because it was never an issue before.
It's challenging to provide guidance without knowing the specific issues you're facing. Have you checked if sfc /scannow and Dism were executed? Did you verify that your BIOS settings are optimized for performance? Were the chipset drivers reinstalled?

Here’s a summary of what I’ve done: I ran sfc/scannow, CHKDSK, driver verifier, reflashed BIOS, confirmed it runs at rated speed, checked all drivers via Device Manager, and downloaded the latest one through the search option. I’m certain the issue stems from a faulty driver, as reinstalling Windows only fixed the GPU without other problems before.
I believe this is the root cause. To ensure the correct driver is installed, I visited the manufacturer’s website but found it overwhelming with options.
My system is roughly 5 or 6 years old. Specifications:
- Motherboard: MSI B150 PC MATE
- CPU: Intel i7-6700k @4.00Hz
- GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070
- RAM: 16gb XPG Z1 DDR4 DRAM
Execute BIOS-level memtest using memtest86 with an overclocked memory setup and standard configuration.
Thank you for the update, it seems to be one of the SSDs I purchased and installed around a year ago. A driver issue during the reset might have caused the problems. I removed it from my PC and haven’t had any crashes afterward.
