they didn't have it originally, mostly just non-X and X CPU versions by the time X3D arrived. There were updates and Windows handled X3D differently from X and non-X due to compatibility issues. I'm sure you'll have more to say about it.

recently the issues have become less frequent, only happening occasionally now. before those changes, it was quite common multiple times each day. seeing it so rarely makes me think there might be another factor at play. it reminds me of the original issue but much more often. if a program is responsible, checking your system's BIOS could help—HP has newer models, though details are unclear. updating should resolve the problem.
