I’ve noticed lag when playing Fortnite on your main screen at 144hz. Watching on a second monitor helps, but turning it off stops the stutter. FPS remains consistent even with background video, yet the game still feels choppy. This hasn’t happened before and you haven’t adjusted anything on your PC. Your system specs are: Intel i5 6600k OC to 4.5ghz, Corsair H100i v2 GTX 1070 TI OC.

This indicates high CPU usage affecting frame timing stability. Also, ensure VSync is disabled when you don't meet your goal.

You could have too many background processes running. I’d close any application you have open.

I'm having trouble shutting down the system. The task manager handles the desktop window manager, and the service seems to be part of the game. I can't stop it, and it keeps interrupting me.

Majestic doesn't have VSync enabled by default. You can't just tweak settings to avoid CPU limits; upgrading to a better GPU is usually necessary.
