Hey there, I'm seeing 90-100 fps in Overwatch and it feels a bit off. I'm running at 1440p with low graphics settings, resolution at 100%, no DLSS or similar in Nvidia settings, and pre-rendered frames at 1. My rig is an I7 4770k with OC 4.2ghz, 970 Sli +180 Core clock, and 470 Memory Clock in MSI Afterburner with 16GB RAM (around 9-9-9-24). The AZrock 87 Extreme 4 Mobo is set to 650W Seasonic PSU, and temps are usually around 70°C during play. I don’t have benchmarks for low settings on this spec, but hitting 100 fps definitely feels like a big goal—especially since my monitor’s refresh rate matches the Korean standard. It’s important to me to reach that target.

Are you certain your cards are using SLI scaling? Certain games perform poorly when running on several GPUs...

You're not sure about anything anymore. You experimented with SLI in a custom game, getting performance between 80-120 depending on whether you played solo or in a team fight. Then you tried force alternate frame rendering 2 and saw the same numbers. Finally, when you turned off SLI, the results stayed consistent.

It seems your cards aren't utilizing SLI in Overwatch. A game patch could potentially improve this.

It looks like the performance difference comes from how the graphics settings affect frame rates. With SLI, you get a higher cap but a lower average, while without it you hit a lower maximum but maintain a better average. This can happen because SLI improves performance more than just the cap—your system might be using resources differently.

It seems most Blizzard titles prior to Overwatch haven’t included SLI support, and it’s unlikely Overwatch would be the first to adopt it.

I recall the patch in Beta that added SLI support—it feels odd not to notice changes in your custom game, yet the training room reacts dramatically. Are there any game or Nvidia settings you might have overlooked?

It seems Blizzard likely turned it off to avoid unfair advantages for players, similar to how 21:9 was handled.

SLI performance isn't inherently unfair when the server-side processing runs at around 20 frames per second, which is a common concern on forums like B.Net since the Betas. I'm playing Overwatch on Monsuta Rig at 2560x1440p Ultra using my 980Ti in a SLI configuration (372.70 Drivers), and consistently achieve about 120fps thanks to V-Sync, even though Nvidia doesn't support FreeSync. Client-side stability remains strong.

He maintains a consistent 150 frames per second on his 980Ti graphics card at 1440p resolution.
