Hello, I updated Windows 10 after swapping the graphics card and processor. While playing Divinity Original Sin 2, I experience stuttering during autosaves. I remember the previous problem and resolved it by using a spare SSD for page filing. This time it hasn’t helped. I removed the DVR, cleared the Microsoft Gamebar overlay, set power settings to maximum performance in the Nvidia control panel, and installed a fresh GPU driver from DDU. Nothing seems to work. My rig was previously overclocked to 4.5MHz (6700k & GA- Z170X - G1), and I’m now only using the Turbo mode. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?
Do you have a second screen or monitoring tool to identify the bottleneck during stuttering? I believe the game itself might be the problem more than your hardware.
You can define custom dimensions for every component. I switched SSD to a reduced size while keeping the rest on HDD. It might be better to use a pagefile for all drives together, or have one file. Personally, I prefer keeping small files on the OS drive just in case of issues. Windows treats it as a single file and doesn't distinguish between drive speeds regardless of location.
It seems the pagefile expanded significantly to 335GB, likely consuming enough available space to impact drive performance. SSD efficiency drops when nearly full, especially with wear leveling effects.
