Experience frequent stuttering and popping sounds, possibly linked to a video driver problem.
After viewing Anthony's video on Pop Os, I chose to try it out myself to see if switching to Linux would work. I set up Pop Os on a spare ADATA SU650 120GB SSD that I had on hand. The storage is kept in an external enclosure so I can move it between my PC and MacBook Pro 2014 as needed. I've observed frequent stuttering and lagging when using Pop Os with the MacBook, making video playback or typing uncomfortable. With the same drive connected to my PC, the problems disappear. I also tested it in another enclosure, which confirmed the issue. This suggests a potential video driver problem linked to the Intel iGPU on the MacBook. I'm unsure how to locate or install these drivers and don't have up-to-date guides for Ubuntu. If this isn't the case, I don't know what steps to take. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I've also attempted reinstalling the OS, updated packages with sudo apt update, enabled performance mode, quit all except one program, and tried disabling VPN.
